How does a pregnancy test work?
This test will determine early pregnancy by detecting levels of the pregnancy hormone Human Chorionic Gonadotrophin (HCG) in your urine at a level of 10mIU/ml. HCG is a hormone that is produced soon after conception and progressively increases during the first three months of pregnancy. In laboratory tests, our Pregnancy Test strip is highly accurate at more than 99.5%. You can perform the test from as early as 10 days after the date of conception. If the conception date is not known, then perform the test on the first day of your missed period
You can use the test strip at any time of the day but we do recommend that you test first thing in the morning when your urine is most concentrated.
The test is very reliable and simple to use and is individually sealed and CE Approved. Instructions for use are as below and are found on the back of every test strip package.
Directions for use
- Collect a urine sample of at least 5ml in a clean, dry container.
- Remove the test strip from the pouch and use as soon as possible.
- Immerse the strip in the container for at least 3 seconds.
- Do not pass the Maximum ( Max.) line.
- Place the strip on a flat, non-absorbent surface and wait for the result.
- Positive results may be seen within 40 seconds. However to confirm a negative result you may need to wait about 5 minutes for the full reaction to take place. Do not read the result after 10 minutes.
What can affect the results of these tests?
The result of these tests will not be affected by drinking alcohol or taking painkillers, antibiotics, the Pill, or other common drugs. Only medicines that contain HCG can produce a false positive result. If you are unsure about your result or your period has still not arrived you should see your doctor for advice.
